Red Rocks Amphitheatre

A must-see attraction in Morrison even if you aren’t planning on attending a concert.  This open-air amphitheater was naturally built out of the surrounding red rocks which provides superb acoustics for the artist who play there.  Anytime there is not a scheduled event, the park is open for drive-through sightseers, family picnickers, nature lovers, and outdoor exercise enthusiasts.  In addition, to viewing the huge stage, guests can also purchase souvenirs at the Trading Post, stop in for lunch at Ship Rock Grille, or learn about the geologic and music history of Red Rocks through several interactive educational displays.  Red Rocks Amphitheatre can also provide private tours and a venue for weddings or other special occasions.

Bandimere Speedway

A quarter-mile dragstrip in Morrison Colorado, also known in the NHRA as Thunder Mountain.  During the warm-weather months of April through October, they host a variety of track events including the National Hot Rod Association races and the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals.  The speedway was established in 1958 on the hogback on the west side of Denver.Entrance to the Bandimere Speedway is only allowed during scheduled events with a purchased ticket. Every ticket includes a pit pass so you get the opportunity to get close to the drivers and their cars.

Dinosaur Ridge

One of the world’s most famous dinosaur fossil localities in Morrison Colorado. Some dinosaur’s fossils found here include Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, and Allosaurus.  Take a self-guided walking tour to see and feel the exposed dinosaur prints that are perfectly entombed in sandstone.  At the visitor’s center guests can purchase souvenirs in the gift shop, explore the exhibits, grab a bite to eat at the snack shack or, participate in a simulated dinosaur dig. It is a must-see for geology or archaeology buffs!

Tiny Town& Railroad

Tiny Town is a miniature village containing over 100 1/6 scale buildings and a 15 in gauge miniature railway in Morrison. Kids will enjoy riding the train and exploring the kid-sized building, while parents take in the fresh mountain air.  The train departs from the station every 30 minutes and allows you to see parts of the park that are not accessible any other way.  The ride is 10 minutes long and is only $2 per person.  There is a gift shop on location where you can also purchase lunch.  Tiny Town offers a picnic area where you can bring your own food or celebrate a birthday on the grounds.  The park is open from May to September.

Morrison Natural History Museum& Morrison Heritage Museum

Morrison has two museums for those wanting to learn more about the town.  The Morrison Natural History Museum allows visitors to encounter historic and modern fossil finds and see research in progress in the fossil preparation laboratory.  The Heritage museum located behind town hall keeps the town’s cultural history alive through artifacts and exhibits.
